How long have you been in business?
I opened the first Jumpin' Catfish in Olathe in 1986.
What is your primary product or service?
Why, catfish of course!! We offer catfish, shrimp, lobster, crablegs, chicken, frog legs, quail and other wild game. We have numerous baked and broiled items! How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We felt like there waa a void for catfish in this area. I grew up in the restaurant business, so I felt that being as there was a void in this area for good, home cooked catfish, I decided to open a catfish restaurant and we just grew from there.
I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a marketing degree.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are one of the few restaurants that serve catfish and wild game. I buy nothing but the best. We fly in fresh, live Maine lobster every Friday. We bring in nothing but Gulf shrimp. We buy only Mississippi farm raised catfish. We make our own sauces and mixes. You can taste the homemade flavor!
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
David Hampton owns the first restaurant opened in Olathe in 1986. Glenn Tobin owns the Jumpin' Catfish in Lee's Summit which was sold to him just last year. We have no plans to expand further at this time.

Kansas City Metropolitan and surrounding areas.
We will cater almost anywhere for parties of 40 or more. We have a catering wagon and come to your location and cook everything right there, 'hot on the spot'!!
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
David Hampton owns the Jumpin' Catfish in Olathe Ks and also handles all 'on the spot' catering for Jumpin' Catfish restaurants.
What are your hours of operation?
Tuesday - Thursday, 11am to 9pm
Friday and Saturday, 11am to 10pm
Sunday - 11am to 8pm
Closed on Monday
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The best compliment would be that we have outstanding food and outstanding service. We truly care about our customers and the quality of the food we serve to you. We will always come around and check on your tables to ensure everything is to your satisfaction.
